Knowing God//Amazing 1st week!

Wow the past week has been AMAZING! I don't even know where to start! So many things have been happening over the past week that I'm not sure how I can try to fit in everything in here. I'll keep it very simple this week. :)

The week one schedule has been busy but entertaining and fun. I've been meeting a lot of new people from different cultures, enjoying activities with the group but at the same time getting a lot of insight and understanding from the leaders and speakers.

I thought it'd be great if I showed you my schedule so you could understand what I've been doing my first week. So far we've been having lots and lots of fun.. We haven't gotten to the "suffering for Jesus" stage yet ;)

On the 2nd day(Tuesday), we had a barbecue at City Beach after orientation just to get everybody warmed up(literally). It was pretty awkward for me at first. It was only my 2nd day in the base and everybody pretty much had their own mini 'clicks'. It took me another day or two to get fully settled in, but it feels amazing to have a group of friends I can call my second family.

The next day(Wednesday) we had our first class in the morning before we set off at night for Hillary's boat harbour where we had some amazing fun on the SUPERNOVA. Shortly after some of the gang tried their first chocolate pizza for dinner while the rest of us sat on the beach and chatted about our own testimonies on how we got here.

On Thursday we had Work Duties Orientation. In the beginning of the week we had to fill out a form about our skills and our previous work experiences so they could assign us according to our area of expertise. After Thursday, we have work duties every day of the week(besides the weekend). I was assigned to the kitchen to do Veggie prep(which I THOROUGHLY enjoy btw - I love chopping things up).

During the orientation we were told that we are not in YWAM to just listen to messages, but to apply them in our daily lives, in every area of work we are given. We had lots of fun at the same time, singing songs and chatting with each other.

On Saturday we went to the beach AGAIN! Although we went to another one. We went to Moore's River - a place I have never seen despite being in Perth for the past 5 years. We had great fun body surfing and body boarding(I want to go everyday!) before we swam past the river to the sand dunes where many of us sand boarded for the first time. Sadly I couldn't get any photos of us sand boarding because we had to swim to get there. Argh!

Wow I've spent an hour typing out this blog post and uploading all these photos... and I've said nothing about what God has been showing me and speaking to me. Well, it's time for dinner now, so I'll be updating this blog again real soon! :)

Agape,
Andrew
